A search result is (A) evidence of the registration time for a security interest, (B) proof of the contents of the PPS Register, and (C) admissible as evidence in a court or tribunal1.
Where perfection is by registration, the registration time will become the priority time for the security interest, unless the security interest has been perfected earlier by possession of control. The general rule is that the security interest with the earliest priority time has the highest priority ranking, subject to the exceptions highlighted in the priority waterfalls in this book.
